Minor Atom, 2016-2017, RMHA (Riverside Minor Hockey)

After 2 somewhat forgetable periods, the boys decided to turn up the heat in the third. Good back checking, forechecking, puck movement, shooting and timely saves from Ethan opened the door for Logan's hat trick and Kade's winner to take the win from the Kent Cobra's grasp. The boys did not quit and showed their resiliency for the come back win. We are all proud of the effort. Back to work now to prepare for A'Burg and Erie. 

The offence was potent again in a lopsided win with the kids scoring 6 third period goals. It was a slower start with the score 1-1 after the first. Logan broke out with 3, Kade 4, Kole 2, Tyus and Ethan L. 1 each. There was some good team play behind the goals. Lets build off of that with our next opponent, Kent. 

After being down 3-1 in the 1st period, the boys rallied back to take two points from Tecumseh. Aidan A. made some timely saves late in the game to keep us ahead. Ethan L. chipped in with 4 goals, along with one from Kade and Sean. The boys will take on Southpoint Saturday and try to run up another win.   

A home and home series versus the Essex Ravens this weekend proved to be a tough test of grit, power and resiliency. We went into Essex Saturday and they handed it to us. We were not ready to match their effort. And it showed on the scoreboard....7-2 loss. Aidan A. made his goalie debut for Riverside and he was left to his own devices and battled and made some saves to prevent a more lopsided affair. Kole P. had a good game with both goals. Fast forward to Sunday. Essex is now in our house. The boys were told by Coach Chris on Saturday to be prepared to play harder Sunday. It appeared so as ...

The boys got off to a strong start to the 2016-2017 season with a convincing 6-0 shutout win over Southport. Rookie winger Hayden K. got us on the board early in the 1st with his 1st career travel goal, a game winner none the less. The goals kept coming due to great pressure in their end. 3 from Kade, 1 from Ethan L. and 1 from Dalton. ALL kids played great. Good goaltending from Ethan A too.  Lets do it again next time.  Go Rangers!!
