Back to Back with Essex
A home and home series versus the Essex Ravens this weekend proved to be a tough test of grit, power and resiliency. We went into Essex Saturday and they handed it to us. We were not ready to match their effort. And it showed on the scoreboard....7-2 loss. Aidan A. made his goalie debut for Riverside and he was left to his own devices and battled and made some saves to prevent a more lopsided affair. Kole P. had a good game with both goals.
Fast forward to Sunday. Essex is now in our house. The boys were told by Coach Chris on Saturday to be prepared to play harder Sunday. It appeared so as Kole scored in the first 30 seconds. The compete level and grit was raised on this day. Kole had a second goal along with Kade and Tyus. Better team play. Ethan A. made some good saves to try and keep the gap closed. But in the end they edged us out 6-4 but a better effort with Ranger hockey.
