The OMHA has issued the following statement suspending all hockey activities.
As of Thursday March 12th all RMHA games and practices are cancelled. There is no plan for resumption of hockey until the OMHA and Hockey Canada provides further direction.
Our March Break HL 3 on 3 event is cancelled along with all other games and practices.
https://www.omha.net/news_article/show/1094606The RMHA Board of Directors will meet in the coming days to further evaluate other activities (i.e. Year-End Banquet, Day of Champions, etc). It is likely that this shutdown will continue for at least 2-3 weeks however we will monitor all updates from Hockey Canada and the OMHA. You are as informed as we are at this point as these are uncharted waters for us all.
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association’s foremost priority is the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and hockey families. We have been proactively working alongside Health Canada, Hockey Canada and local public health officials in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). In light of recent events, the OMHA Officers have made the decision to immediately suspend all hockey activities. We will be proactive in informing our constituents on all upcoming protocols and required actions as they become available.
