Tournament Code of Conduct

Purpose

The purpose of this tournament is to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants, spectators, and other attendees. It is the responsibility of everyone involved to uphold the values of respect, sportsmanship, and fairness to ensure a fun and memorable event for all.

General Expectations

All individuals attending the tournament, including players, coaches, parents, spectators, and officials, must adhere to the following principles:

  1. Respect: Treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of role, team affiliation, or background.

  2. Sportsmanship: Display good sportsmanship at all times, including in moments of competition, victory, or defeat.

  3. Accountability: Accept responsibility for your actions and words, both on and off the ice, and at all venues, including accommodations and surrounding areas.

Prohibited Behaviors

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action:

  1. Abuse or Harassment:

    • Abuse of on-ice officials

    • Abuse of arena staff

    • Abuse of hotel employees

    • Abuse of tournament volunteers

    • Abuse of any opposing team members

    • Abuse of any members of your own team

  2. Discrimination or Hate Speech:

    • Comments or gestures perceived as racially, ethnically, or culturally insensitive

    • Comments or gestures perceived as gender-based discrimination

    • Any form of harassment or bullying

  3. Inappropriate Language:

    • Use of obscene, vulgar, or explicit language

    • Any communication that creates a hostile or negative environment

Complaint Process

  • Complaints regarding conduct will be reviewed by the Tournament Committee.

  • The Tournament Committee’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

  • Serious conduct violations will be reported to the individual’s home association for further review.

Accountability for Teams and Members

Teams and their members are responsible for maintaining appropriate behavior:

  • At all tournament venues

  • While traveling or staying at host accommodations

  • During all interactions associated with the tournament

Reminder

Winning or losing, and the emotions that accompany competition, must always remain positive and constructive. Fun and enjoyment must never come at the expense of someone else’s experience.

Consequences

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to:

  • Warnings

  • Ejection from the tournament venue

  • Team penalties or disqualification

  • Reporting to home associations for further action
